A safe, reliable space to do the real work — together.
I'm Kate Lappin, a relational and psychodynamic therapist in New York City. Whether we realize it or not, our past experiences shape how we show up in our relationships and how we see ourselves — and sometimes those old patterns leave us feeling stuck, anxious, or not quite ourselves.
We'll look at the why behind your emotional habits — and the roles you've felt forced to play to survive and belong.
These aren't just things to "talk about" — they're feelings that need to be felt and worked through within a real, supportive connection. That's exactly what I aim to provide.
My approach is rooted in relational and psychodynamic therapy, which is a fancy way of saying we'll figure out what actually matters to you — helping you learn how to set boundaries and finally put yourself first. I'll be honest: I don't have a magic wand or an overnight fix. Real change takes time. But I will be right there with you.
Interactive, non-judgmental, and honest.
I won't sugarcoat it — this process can bring up some tough stuff. But I promise you won't be navigating it alone. My style is non-judgmental, genuinely curious, and very interactive; you won't just be talking to a silent wall.
I love working with fellow New Yorkers from all walks of life who are ready to dig into who they really are and build a life that actually feels like their own.
